Workout of the day, August 15, 2012

on

Today we’re going low-tech and old school. Don’t think about what you’re doing just do it and be thankful it has to end sometime.

Warm-up is a nice slow jog for 400m. Then 20 Jumping Jacks, 20 air squats, and 30 jump ropes.

Now that your muscles are ready to go we’re doing a five-for five this morning it goes a little something like this.

Strict form Burpees, for 5 Minutes

Run 5 minutes

Dumbbell Thrusters for 5 Minutes

Run 5 Minutes

Handstand Pushups for 5 Minutes

Run 5 Minutes

Barbell Deadlifts for 5 Minutes

Run 5 Minutes

Row 500m (if you don’t have access to a rower do body rows, or bent over dumbbell rows)

Collapse and curse your trainer. Old tricks are the best tricks. Don’t worry about a certain number of reps just focus on good from, full range of motion and stopping as little as possible. This is a survive to the end workout. Be strategic about your choice in weights for the Thrusters and Deadlifts but challenge yourself with something that limits you to no more then 5 reps at a time.
